So many folks these days seem to know everything about virtually anything. They have no desire to learn. Once they have graduated from education indoctrination camps they live their lives day to day and believe they have life and the world all figured out. Any questions after all can be answered quickly by simply asking your smartphone.
I’ll have to admit, these types of people are annoying at the highest level. You can’t have an intelligent discussion about any subject when they already know the answers. The limits of what you’re allowed to discuss is pablum and is tiring.
My wife and I love to read and learn. We want to know more. We want to know the truth. We don’t believe anything and question everything. Nothing is carved in stone. We don’t watch “TV” although we do tend to escape and enjoy all types of movies and documentaries. When we are not working we spend time reading and discuss what we come across with each other and share that information. It often opens up new channels for us and we explore many rabbit holes together.
It was shortly after 9/11 when Marie and I knew something wasn’t quite right and since then have always questioned everything. We certainly don’t know it all and crave information. Especially factual data from whatever reliable sources we can find and people we can trust. Our views and operating systems are always being updated.
What is amazing to us is people just don’t care. About anything really. One guess could be they’re just too busy living their lives and don’t have the time. Although perhaps a valid reason, it’s hard to understand why. Perhaps the indoctrination to trust authority has been so effective it prevents them from asking questions. Maybe it’s just easier to keep your head buried in the sand.
David Icke has a simple term for this for which he describes the mainstream alternative media today and I believe it fits. “Here but no further.” Love him or hate him, he’s a smart guy and the subjects he discusses are always amazing. Although we don’t agree with everything he says, he is worth a listen and his books are eye opening. We subscribe to Ickonic and enjoy much of the programming. For those with an open mind it certainly makes you think. Those who label him a conspiracy theorist and dismiss his work can be characterized as a classic know-it-all. FYI, this is not a paid plug. We are just fans and find his discussions interesting.
Now that being said, this post was a draft that I wanted to continue to elaborate on. Then to my amazement this morning, in my inbox was an article from Off-Guardian. Todd Hayen being a much better writer than myself did an excellent job touching on this subject so I will let him pick it up here where I left off. Thank you Todd! They have a great group of subscribers and comments are worth a look too.
